These lil’ gems are raw, packed full of Omega-3 & protein, and make a perfect to-go snack. Pre-energy balls, I was completely addicted to making my energy bars. One night, my friend was over for dinner & mentioned “energy balls”, so naturally, I corrected her (giggled) and said “bars”. We’d keep talking and they’d come up again…her: “balls”, me: “bars”, her: “balls”, in my head: “baaaaars”. My neighbour was joining us for dinner that night too & sure enough, what did she bring over to share with us…energy BALLS (they were delicious by the way). Apparently I had been totally void of the latest trend for some time. Here’s to energy balls!!…bars?
SuperRaw Energy Balls 14 pitted medjool dates *blend in food processor until ball forms
1/2cup nut butter – I typically use almond
1/4cup maple syrup
1/2tsp sea salt
*combine above 5 ingredients in bowl and give a good stir. Add 1/3 cup cocoa powder & stir.
3/4cup brown rice cereal
1cup sliced raw almonds
1cup raw sunflower seeds
1/2cup raw walnuts
*combine above 4 ingredients in a food processor & blend until crumble like. Pour into large bowl. Add to the bowl 2tbsp ground flax seed, 1/3cup hemp hearts, 2tbsp chia seeds, & 1/4cup wheat germ. Stir. Add the medjool date mixture. Give it a good stir. Now, it’s time to roll some balls! *I rolled these ones in coconut & beet powder – chia seeds are a good one too. Keep refrigerated or freeze.
